X Factor finalist Rachel Hylton, 42, is reportedly sought by police after missing a court appearance on October 29 at Crawley Magistrates’ Court, where she was due to face a drug accusation. As a result, an arrest order without bail has been issued for her.
Rachel Hylton rose to fame as a memorable contestant during the fifth season of the now-ended ITV talent show, The X Factor.
Her performances impressed judges Louis Walsh, Cheryl, Dannii Minogue, and Simon Cowell, especially with her version of Amy Winehouse’s “You Know I’m No Good” during her audition in 2008.
Hylton, who was 26 back then, made it to the final rounds in the over-25s category, guided by mentor Dannii Minogue. Her journey ended in week seven after losing a sing-off to JLS, while Alexandra Burke claimed the season’s title.
Now, 15 years after her time on The X Factor, Hylton reportedly has an arrest order following her absence from court to address a charge of cannabis resin possession on October 13 at Crawley Police Station.
The Home Office categorizes cannabis resin as a Class B substance, viewed as harmful under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.

According to The Sun, Hylton did not provide a reason for missing her court date, prompting the no-bail arrest order. Prosecutor Jeremy King stated, “She signed the charge sheet to appear today, and no contact has been made.”
During her X Factor days, Hylton left a lasting impression on the judges. Simon Cowell once remarked, “Rachel, I need to say something to you. You’re clearly nervous, but I completely adore you. I love this girl. I think you’re remarkable. You’re a genuine breath of fresh air.”
