In a case of social media gone hilariously wrong, a man in China found himself in the emergency room after his girlfriend’s fist became stuck in his mouth during a viral challenge.
The pair was attempting the “Hand-Eating Challenge,” a trend where participants try to fit an entire fist into their mouth. While most might question the wisdom of such a stunt, the couple was determined to give it a shot. Unfortunately, their enthusiasm backfired when the man’s jaw locked mid-challenge, leaving his girlfriend’s hand trapped inside.
By the time they arrived at the hospital, the scene was both comical and chaotic. The man was drooling uncontrollably, struggling to breathe, and attempting to suppress bouts of laughter, which only made things worse. Nurses tried to calm the situation with soothing music to prevent him from panicking—or worse, vomiting.

The medical team sprang into action, using a combination of a mouth opener and muscle relaxants to release the jaw’s iron grip. With careful rotations of the girlfriend’s wrist, they managed to free her after an intense 20 minutes. Miraculously, neither party sustained any injuries, though both left with a memorable story.
In a post-incident warning, the couple urged others to steer clear of the challenge, pointing out the risks of medical emergencies that could follow. Their message was clear: “Some trends just aren’t worth the jaw-dropping consequences.”
