A Catholic nursery teacher lost her job after parents of her students recognized her in a racy online photo.
Elena Maraga, 29, was suspended from her role at the Catholic nursery, leaving her devastated and uncertain about her future in teaching.
She expressed her disappointment over the swift decision, fearing it might impact her students.
Speaking about her decision to open an OF account, Elena defended herself, saying, “I see nothing wrong with embracing one’s own femininity and sensuality.” However, after her profile was discovered by a parent, it was reported to the school, leading to an internal investigation and her dismissal.
Elena’s profile on the online platform was discovered by a parent of one of her students who immediately reported back to her place of work.
This led to an internal investigation led by the Catholic institution which resulted in her being dismissed from her teaching role. However, she said she felt the whole situation impacted her students.
She said: “I don’t know who found my profile, but I believe it was the mother or father of one of my students. They recognized me because of my profile picture. It has become public knowledge on the mothers’ Facebook groups.
“There are some mums who want to support me, and want me to keep teaching their children.”
Elena, who has more than 16,000 followers on Instagram, decided to start an OF account just over one month ago. She quickly gained popularity on the platform, and revealed in an interview with local press that she can earn one month’s salary in one day.
The teacher, who lives in Treviso, Italy, said: “I opened OF a month ago, a little bit for fun, but also out of curiosity and to see if it would earn me money. I posted some photos and the profile exploded—in one day I can get a month’s salary.
“As a teacher I get about £1,000 to £1,088 per month, but with OF the figures are very different.”
Whilst Elena, who is also a bodybuilder that has competed and won various competitions, loves being a teacher, she feels it is something she will not go back to.

Despite five years working at the Catholic nursery, Elena has already begun studying for a new role as a personal trainer.
She has stated that she feels the world of personal training is more open.
