Beyonce, a numerous award-winning singer and songwriter, has officially created her own whisky brand called “SirDavis.”
This latest endeavor adds Beyoncé to the expanding list of celebrities who have entered the alcohol market. On Tuesday morning, August 20, the singer unveiled the brand, which is part of the LVMH luxury goods conglomerate, on her verified Instagram account.
Beyoncé took to Instagram to share a snapshot of herself wearing a sleek white outfit and carrying a tumbler of dark whisky. The image was captioned with the fascinating phrase, “DAVIS IN MY BONES,” implying that the brand’s name holds personal importance.
SirDavis is apparently named after her great-grandfather, Davis, bringing a personal touch to the brand’s identity. The brand’s packaging, as shown in the initial photographs, includes a ribbed glass bottle contained in a handcrafted leather case with a logo picturing a horse named Reneigh, a reference to the cover of Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” album.

Moët Hennessy, a subsidiary of LVMH, filed a trademark application for “SirDavis” in June. LVMH owns several iconic brands, including Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co. and Dior. The trademark incorporates the statement “The future of whisky is here,” which indicates a bold and innovative approach to the whisky market.
This new addition to Beyoncé’s portfolio could help her financial situation. Forbes estimates Beyoncé’s net worth to be more than $760 million as of May 2024, owing to her successful music career and various business ventures, such as her former Ivy Park clothing line with Adidas, her collaboration with Balmain, her perfume line Cé Noir, and her production company, Parkwood Entertainment.
With the debut of SirDavis, Beyoncé may soon join the ranks of her billionaire colleagues, like her husband Jay Z, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift. Celebrities’ engagement with the alcohol market has proven to be extremely lucrative. For example, Ryan Reynolds sold his Aviation Gin company to Diageo for $610 million in 2020, while George Clooney’s Casamigos tequila brand sold for up to $1 billion in 2017.
According to court records, Sean “Diddy” Combs earned around $1 billion from his collaboration with Diageo for Ciroc vodka and DeLeón tequila.
Beyoncé’s foray into the whisky market is not unprecedented in the music industry. She released her debut country music album, “Cowboy Carter,” earlier this year and now joins the ranks of other country performers who have dabbled in whisky, like Darius Rucker, John Rich, and Willie Nelson.
Jay Z, Beyoncé’s husband, is no new to the alcohol industry either. In 2021, he made news when he sold half of his luxury champagne company Ace of Spades to LVMH for $300 million, followed by a controlling ownership in his D’ussé Cognac to Bacardi for $750 million.
SirDavis’ pricing has already been determined, with a 750ml bottle costing $89.99, according to the brand’s website. Shipping is planned to start as early as September, offering fans and whisky enthusiasts a chance to sample the new spirit.
Beyoncé’s venture into the whisky market with SirDavis not only reflects her entrepreneurial spirit but also adds a new chapter to her illustrious career, potentially paving the way for her to achieve billionaire status in the near future.
