Ice Spice made a big impression at her debut headlining show in Los Angeles, at the Hollywood Palladium. The rapper from the Bronx performed the tunes that propelled her to popularity following her viral breakout with “Munch (Feelin’ U)” in late 2022.
The Y2K! World Tour began on July 4 in Denmark and has been growing globally, with highlights including performances in Philadelphia, Chicago, and New York City.
The excitement from the social media footage was mirrored in the Los Angeles performance, which featured an inflated figure resembling Ice Spice and a subway car set.
But there was undeniably more magic to the experience of seeing Ice Spice perform live. She has gotten a lot of criticism over the years, ranging from faults with her flow to worries about her lyrical choices to the short length of her songs.
Nonetheless, she demonstrated a star power that was both visible and enormous during her Palladium performance, even though it is still developing.
Her debut album, Y2K!, represents a return to the drill music roots that first piqued her interest. This move appears to be a response to criticism, despite her ability to produce radio-ready singles with singers such as Taylor Swift and PinkPantheress. Fans questioned if she would truly embrace pop music, but Y2K! preserved her roots in rap.
This decision did not detract from her live performance. She firmly delivered the lyric, “Rap bitch on a pop chart,” during “Phat Butt,” establishing the tone for the evening. Throughout her 50-minute concert, she showcased pop sensibilities with choreographed routines and high-energy songs like “Barbie World” and “Deli.”

Her engagement with the crowd was limited, with only a few smiles here and there, as she concentrated on giving a deliberate and forceful performance.
Several singles were performed at the concert, including “In Ha Mood,” “Princess Diana,” “Gimme a Light,” and “Think U the Shit (Fart).” The fast fire series of short songs could have easily derailed the momentum, but Ice Spice kept it going by bringing in a number of special guests to keep the energy levels high.
Gunna’s hit song “Fukumean” was played when he joined her on stage for “Bitch I’m Packin’,” while Bktherula did a few of solo tracks. Theremix of “Fisherrr” was performed by Cash Cobain, who is traveling with her, and Ice Spice. However, the song did not make it to the top of the summer hits chart.

Ice Spice remained the show’s star despite the guest appearances. She had an incredible ability to negotiate her rapid rise to notoriety with a clear sense of purpose, acting as if each move were part of a larger plan. Ice Spice was more than just a rapper at the Palladium; she was a budding pop artist looking to further her career.
