Donald Trump may have been linked to an adult film actress, but if he gets elected again, he might try to wipe out the entire adult film industry.
Adult film stars are sounding the alarm and urging young men to vote against the Republican candidate next month.
The #HandsOffMyPorn campaign has already spent $200,000 on ads running on adult websites, warning viewers that Trump’s key supporters want to ban pornography and lock up the performers who bring it to life.
They’re asking Americans to push back at the polls.
“If you care about adult entertainment, if you watch or create adult content, you need to vote on November 5,” porn actress Siouxsie Q emphasized to AFP. “There’s no other choice here.”
This initiative comes in response to Project 2025, a plan for reshaping the federal government if Trump, the Republican nominee, wins the election.
The foreword of the lengthy 900-page document states plainly: “Pornography should be banned. Those who create and distribute it should be jailed.”
Although Trump has tried to distance himself from Project 2025, many of his allies and former officials helped write it. Democrats argue that a lot of its policies align with Trump’s own views.
The #HandsOffMyPorn campaign is primarily targeting men, who are four times more likely to admit watching adult content than women, according to the Institute for Family Studies.
With the competitive US election heating up between Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris, polls show a significant gender gap among voters.
Trump is popular among male voters, often presenting his assertive message to young men on conservative podcasts.
Now, the #HandsOffMyPorn’s “public service announcements” are reaching users in key states like Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Georgia, frequently right before they watch adult videos.
Stars like Siouxsie Q appear in these spots, saying, “Hey, I know you’re busy. I know you’re into something. Just a moment. If you want to keep enjoying this, you really need to vote on November 5… Have fun!”
Harris isn’t connected to the #HandsOffMyPorn campaign, which is funded by the independent Artists United for Change committee, Siouxsie Q pointed out.
“Hopefully, secretly, she supports what we’re doing,” she added with a hopeful smile.
Crackdowns on adult content aren’t new in the United States. However, Holly Randall, who has spent 26 years in the adult industry, shared that she has never encountered such a severe threat to the sector.
This even includes the time when her parents, who worked in adult films during Ronald Reagan’s crackdown in the 1980s, had to shoot explicit scenes in secret.

“I’ve seen these battles come and go… Project 2025 is the most direct attempt to completely outlaw porn,” she remarked.
“Absolutely, I’m worried about the possibility of jail time,” added Siouxsie Q, who became known for her roles in feminist, queer, and bondage films before shifting to production.
Adult film stars also warn that the fallout could extend far beyond their industry.
According to Siouxsie Q, adult content serves as a “canary in the coal mine” for the freedom of expression guaranteed by the First Amendment. She pointed out the Republican-led efforts to remove sex education books from school libraries as another worrying trend.
Randall noted that adult entertainment is a “lightning rod” for broader issues like trans rights, same-sex marriage, and reproductive rights.
“It’s always the easiest target because it represents people’s fears about changing morals around sexuality and gender fluidity,” she said.
Trump has consistently claimed he has no connection to Project 2025. Yet, a recent investigation by the New York Times revealed that “well over half” of the authors of the document had ties to Trump’s prior administration or were part of his campaign or transition teams.

Randall highlighted the irony of Trumpconvicted for fraud related to “hush money” payments to porn star Stormy Daniels—getting involved in this movement, even though she suspects he personally “doesn’t actually care whether or not it’s banned.”
“But it’s the people around him, like (Trump’s running mate) J.D. Vance, these ultra-right-wing conservatives, who are determined to prohibit porn,” she noted.
Vance wrote the foreword to an upcoming book by Kevin D. Roberts—the author of the Project 2025 section advocating a porn ban.
“I think Trump will easily step aside and let that happen,” Randall said.
