The nominations for the upcoming 2024 MTV VMAs have finally been announced.
The organizers for the award scheme released the nominee list for the 2024 edition on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, and you won’t believe who topped the list again with the highest nod for the second time in roll, and its Taylor Swift.
Yes, Taylor Swift together with Post Malone dominated this year’s VMAs, Swif topped it with 10 nominations all thanks to her “Fortnight” song which gained her a total of 8 solid nominations, including the video of the year, the song of the year, the best collaboration of the year, etc. Recall that last year, out of 10 nominations, Taylor managed to win 9 categories, will she be able to repeat the same for this year?
Post Malone on the other hand who closes up to Taylor in terms of nominations got nominated in 9 categories some categories nominated include video of the year, song of the year, best collaboration, best editing, etc, just like Swift.

Ariana Grande came up as the next up, she got six (6) nominations, and same is Sabrina Carpenter who is on fire with her releases, also scored a total of 6 nominations.
Well, rap lovers who used to be fans of Slim Shady aren’t left out as Eminem is back on track, also scoring six nominations, Em was nominated in the Artist of the Year category as well as the Best Hip Hop category of the Year, making it a whole, Houdini from the rapper’s latest album, “The Death Of Slime Shady” grabbed four nominations.
Well, the upcoming 2024 MTV Video Music Awards will be coming off on September 10 and will be held at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York to celebrate its 40th anniversary as it makes it return to the city once more.
